Sport in France
You look down at the lie of your ball then down the fairway and feel a tingle of excitement. Just a day ago, you watched the pros battling it out on this same course. Seeing a world-class tournament in the flesh was exciting. Playing the same 18 holes– even more so.
Yesterday, they navigated the bunker and avoided the trees on the far side with ease. You’re not at all sure you’ll do as well, but it doesn’t matter. You watched them play and now it’s your turn. It’s a dream come true.

Ski down some of the same slopes where Olympic champions have tested their mettle! Whether you prefer downhill skiing, cross-country, nordic or heli-skiing, AAV can organize the perfect luxury ski holiday for you, including after ski spa for you or ski lessons for the little ones.
Golf
The French love a good game of golf and have some fabulous courses. No matter your destination in France, AAV can arrange for you to play your 18-holes. For a one-day escapade near Paris, try the Golf de Chantilly or Fontainebleau. Or combine your love of golf and your love of wine at the prestigious Golf du Médoc.
Horse Riding
Ride in Chantilly, the horse-riding capital, with over 2,000 hectares dedicated to the 2,500 horses who walk, trot and gallop there every day, and imagine yourself riding in the celebrated French Derby. Or explore the Camargue Nature Reserve by horseback, trotting among the famous bulls and flamingos. AAV can even arrange for you to go fox hunting!
Cycling
Bicycling is a great way to get to know the French countryside. Imagine cycling alongside the Loire River, amidst gorgeous scenery, chateaux perched atop the hills in the distance. Or seeing some of the world’s most prestigious vineyards from your bike. For serious cyclists, AAV can arrange for you to ride the same route as pros in the Tour de France!
Trekking
Some of the most beautiful sites in France are accessible only by foot: the Vallée des Merveilles near Italy with its Prehistoric engravings; the Mont Blanc, the highest point in the Alps; the celebrated GR20 hiking trail in Corsica; and the “Colorado Provenzal”, with red, white and ochre rock formations.
Sailing
The English Channel, the Atlantic Coast, the Bay of Biscay, the Mediterranean… France has over 4600 kilometers of coastline, which makes sailing a wonderful way to see France in all its glory. Take a day—or more—to explore in the splendor of a luxury yacht.
Sport Events
Tennis
Tennis afficionados will love visiting the French Open at Roland Garros, the prestigious event on clay courts in Paris late May. If you visit France later in the year, why not see the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters? Or the Rolex Paris Masters in November, the world’s largest indoor tennis event.
Formula 1 racing
If you’re a fan of motor sports, the south of France is great for you. The Grand Prix de Monaco is one of the oldest and most prestigious courses in the world. The tunnel, long straight stretches ending in the hairpin turns… the circuit is tortuous and beautiful. Or see the French Grand Prix, held in Le Castellet since 2018.
Football
The football season in France (soccer for Americans) is both rich and long. Whether the French League, Champions League, Europea League…, you will enjoy taking an evening out to experience a football match with some of the most talented players in the world.
The sport of kings
France has a strong history in horse racing and dressage, which means you can see some of the very best events during your luxury vacation to France. The 5-star CSIO of La Baule, the CDI of Saumur, le Mondial du Lion, the Open de France, Longines Deauville Classic, Longines Masters de Paris and the celebrated Prix de Diane Longines are among the events that AAV can arrange for you to see.
